In a co-innovation group of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, experts from Shaperwise took up the challenge of increasing the attractiveness of Basel as a location for start-ups. The key to our success lay in the development of an innovative platform that connects all relevant stakeholders in Basel.
The challenge
Basel already offers a solid infrastructure and a strong network for companies. However, start-ups often struggle to make the right contacts and find access to resources. The aim was to break down these barriers and position Basel as a preferred location for start-ups.
The solution: a networking platform
The solution was to develop a platform that connects all stakeholders in Basel. This includes investors, companies, universities, research institutions and government organizations. The platform enables start-ups to
- Make contacts: get in touch with investors and potential business partners.
- Find resources: Gain access to key resources such as office space, funding programs and technical support.
- Share knowledge: Learn from the experiences of others and participate in workshops and seminars.
The impact
The introduction of this platform has improved cooperation between the various players in Basel and initial successes have been achieved. Startups benefit from easier access to important resources and contacts, which increases their chances of success. It remains to be seen whether the motivation to set up in Basel has increased as a result of better support and networking.
Conclusion
Through the targeted networking and support of all stakeholders, Basel has been able to significantly increase its attractiveness as a location for start-ups. This initiative shows how co-innovation and digital solutions can help to effectively tackle economic and entrepreneurial challenges.
The platform is an example of how positive change can be achieved through collaboration and innovation.
